Turkish police used force against women who came out for the march on the eve of the Women’s international day: Euronews comments on this: Hundreds of women with purple symbolizing struggle for women’s rights, on Sunday came out to the central square of Istambul. Police dispersed the march, using rubber bullets against women participating. It is reported that the demonstration was broken up when the police arrested one woman.

 

Women were coming out for the march for two days as the major did not allow them gathering on March 8th because of safety concerns. In Ankara also dozens of women came out to streets. Clashes between the police and demonstrators occurred.
