Extraordinary local self-governmental elections – Women are only candidates for community council members

Extraordinary self-governmental elections are appointed on March 20th, in Nor Artagers community of Armavir region and Shirakavan community of Shirak region. Registration of candidates expired yesterday on March 1st at 18:00.

Let’s recall that according to the data provided by the Ministry of Territorial administration and emergency situations a few days ago

– Only 18 out of 915 community leaders are women,

– No city of the republic is headed by a woman; women are represented in leadership positions only in rural communities,

– Only 555 out of 5857 community council members are women.
