UNICEF: How to use the potential of Diaspora and migrants to assist the most vulnerable children and families

 

This issue was discussed on February 3th at the conference organized by the UN Children’s Fund, European Union Delegation to Armenia and “Mission East” organization. Innovative approaches to Diaspora engagement, as well as possible use of remittances related to children were introduced. More than 70 representatives of organization dealing with problems of Diaspora were present.

 

It was organized within the framework of the program “Mitigating the effects of labor migration and social integration of migrants in local development process. In her opening speech Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan welcoming the participants, highlighted the organization of the conference in this format, and noted that it gives an opportunity of appropriation of other countries’ experience and improving cooperation between Armenia and Diaspora.
