The Government rejected the bill related to withdrawals of women MPs

 Today at the Government session RA draft law «On making amendments and changes to the Electoral Code» authored by Edmon Marukyan received a negative assessment. Let’s remind what he suggested: is a withdrawal application is submitted by a woman, the mandate should be passed to the next woman candidate in the party list.

The Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan represented the Government’s report during the executive session.

Arpine Hovhannisyan said that the Government has not found it expedient to pass this bill, as it is extremely problematic.
