Mystery of Jeanne Dark

On May 30 the Catholic Church celebrates the day of the Saint Jeanne Dark. (fr.՝ Jeanne d՚Arc,1412 -1431). French national heroine Jeanne Dark, who is also famous as Orlean’s virgin, is one of the most mysterious characters of the French history. Information about her is quite contradictory and sometimes historians doubt if such person existed or not. It is known that Jeanne Dark led French people’s liberation struggle against English during Hundred Year War (1337—1453). Among all the women and men whose names remain in history Jeanne Dark was the only one to be a chief commander at the age of 17.
