“Women of 1915 »film about the Armenian Genocide by American-Armenian director Paret Maronian. The idea of presenting documentary devoted a woman who witnessed genocide arose after the film Orphans of the Genocide.
The documentary film “Women in 1915” is a scope of documentary including various subheadings, valuable documentary research that represents the stories of Armenian and foreign women who played a huge role in salvation of women and orphans during Genocide (and after). Introducing the Odyssey of the Armenian Genocide reveals the image of a woman who overcame the path of death, rescued children from the loss and kept bright the spirit of the Armenian “home”/ojakh abroad.
Director, producer Paret Maronian is familiar to viewers of Armenia by his documentary “Orphans of the Genocide”, a film which was shown in 2014 during the “Golden Apricot” film festival.
The premiere was held last year in New Jersey, it was shown in Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Toronto and other cities around the world this year it will be represented in more cities. In this short period, the film won several awards. In Los Angeles Film Festival “Arpa” received “Armin Wegner” Humanitarian Award, and earlier it had received from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) regional annual “Emmy” award for the best director award.
