The bill does not prohibit announcing fetus sex: the official explanation

RA Ministry of Healthcare gets reports that some clinics and hospitals refuse to say fetus sex, explaining that some changes have been made in the “Law on reproductive health and reproductive health”, according to which doctors are not allowed to say fetus sex until it becomes 30 weeks.

Please, be advised that the National Assembly has not considered it yet, and there is no provision on providing information about fetus sex. Draft submitted to NA abortion is prohibited in case of pregnancy of more than 12 weeks. If this provision is violated administrative responsibility is envisaged by the proposed amendment in RA Code “On Administrative offenses”.

According to another amendment a woman should be given three days in order to consider her decision. During that time obstetricians and gynecologists should carry out psychological work with pregnant women and their families in order to preserve the fetus.
