“Talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does”, – announces social video of Dove Company which was released with the purpose to save teenagers from the imposed artificial standards. As shown in the survey done by Dove in 2008, every day girls see photos of various types of beautiful girls in fashionable magazines and advertisements that it negatively affects their self-esteem. They do not take into account that illustrators “proofread” these pictures through various graphic applications. So the survey conducted among 100 teenager girls found out that 77% of them – 11-14-aged-, seeing photos of Hollywood actresses and models, consider themselves to be “fat” and “ugly”.
The film “The violent attack” shot a few years ago has not lost its relevance even today. In fact, it is for parents, who do not provide enough time to their children and do not protect their unformed outlook from distorting information. The director offers to look at the world with the eye of a beautiful blond girl and what the child sees is horrible – unnatural slim models, tons of cosmetics on a plastic made face, surgical implants and pills for losing weight and miraculous crèmes. All these things like are screaming: “Change you”. Then the audience sees the other side of the industry: Botox injections, anorexia and bulimia victims.
This video is just one of the initiatives of Dove Company within the framework of the campaign “For natural beauty”.
