After the genocide. “Women and men experience genocidal practices differently”
On September 17-19th Yerevan hosts the international conference considering after the Genocide from gender perspective. It is entitled: “After Genocide:From Trauma to Rebirth: A gendered perspective. It is the third forum of its kind. The first two were held in Lebanon and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Yerevan conference is hosted by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), which hosted the first press conference dedicated to the conference.
The conference is organized by the «Women in War» organization, in collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences, the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Association of AGBU Armenia and folk high schools (DVV International).
To participate in the conference, speakers from around the world arrived in Armenia – Rwanda, Bosnia, Israel, Palestine and other countries. Among the speakers are feminist thinkers and activists, historians, sociologists, anthropologists, psychologists and lawyers, who will discuss the personal, political and social consequences of genocide from the gender perspective.
