Tavush. Women councilors in larger communities / video 26

According to the results of local elections held on September 18^th,   Tavush region there will continue to be without the head of a woman. 2 women were nominated for this position and no one was elected.

– I can remember that once  in Tavush there were  many women leaders. I do not know why the situation has changed, I do not want to say that it is considered as a policy, but women began to yield their place as a community leader. As a council member I have always given women an advantage, and I continue to say that women as council members approach to  issues in a more serious way than men, says villager Kirants Hamayak Nazaryan.

Let’s note, however, that women’s representation in local councils within the province of a small progress.
