War’s Unwomanly Face…

It seems that so many books have been written about women’s participation in the war, so many films have been shot and everything has already been told. Today, however, a few people know that there was a period after Patriotic war that women used to hide their combat decorations and they did not even want to talk about it because very often it was an obstacle for arranging their private life. Only in 60s they began to talk about the cruel destinies of women participating in the war, and in this regard, Boris Vasilev’s novel “and sunrises are peaceful here” became a turning point.
