“National Progress Report on the Millennium Development Goals” was presented
Today presentation of “Millennium Development Goals: National Progress Report” took place, attended by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and the UN Resident Coordinator Bradley Bradley. This summary of eight Millennium Development Goals’ implementation during 2000-2015, in fact, emphasizes the transition to new sustainable development goals and the beginning of nationalization and localization process”Transforming our world: New Agenda 2030″.
In his welcoming remarks RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the “Millennium Development Goals: National Progress Report” summarizes the work carried out by Armenia towards implementation of the Millennium Development Goals adopted by the UN in 2000.
Hovik Abrahamyan noted that our country’s achievements concerning some objectives are significant in terms of child and maternal mortality, access to education, clean water access, the, but in terms of other goals, although there is some progress, but there are still many tasks, and the need to continue persistent efforts, in order to improve relevant indicators.
