Nare Ghazaryan: “With a little effort and many things will change in Shikahogh.”

Shikahogh community of Syunik region has first woman leader –   26-year-old Nare Ghazaryan. The young mayor received education in the capital city and after working at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts for six months, decided to return home and work in Shikahogh community.

“I never regret my decision, I returned because I thought my village needs me more, here there are many issues and concerns that need to be addressed and I could see myself in the process of solving these problems. I was still thinking about taking part in the elections last year, and the more the days were approaching, the more it reinforced my desire to participate. Other candidates also entered the the campaign but later they withdrew and I was selected, – “said the mayor.

Nara Ghazaryan adds that the villagers accepted her decision to become a community leader very well. Shikahogh community with 220 people has a lot of problems. Community leader considers both roads and lighting to be the primary issue.
