Our girl children. The numbers speak
In Armenia there are 776.5 thousand 0-19 year old children 364.5 thousand or 47% of of which are girls.
Our children, including girls, 37.3% live in poverty, 3.3% of them live in extreme poverty. every second child living in large families is poor (47.5%).
In Armenia the ratio of families wishing to have a girl child and a boy child is one to six.
After the birth, the families are showing the same care and attention to girl children as boys.
Girl children in our country are about 45,000 less than boys (0-19 years old), and this trend continues.
In 2014, 20,287 girls and 22,869 boys were born in Armenia, i.e. about 114 boys to 100 girls fell, while the normal ratio would be 100: 102-106.
