NA Deputy Speaker met with the young women elected in the local government bodies

On July 2 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan met with the young women elected in the local government bodies of the urban and rural communities in “The Association of Women with University Education” organized the meeting implemented by the UNDP within the framework of the program “Capacity Building of the Women’s Effective Participation in the Local Self-Government System in Armenia.”

Jemma Hasratyan, the Chair of the Association of Women with University Education, has noted that the youngest members of the urban and rural Elders’ Council take part in the meeting. She also introduced the representatives of the UNDP program Claire Medina and Alla Bakunts.

Welcoming the participants of the program, the NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan highlighted their participation in the courses organized by the UNDP program. She has noted that the organization of the community life is of priority, and the activities of the local self-government body are very important in the development of the community.

Mrs Naghdalyan emphasized the role of the intellectual, politically mature, patriotic and active women in the public and political life of the state. The NA Deputy Speaker wished the participants success in their activities and personal life, highlighting the Armenian woman’s, Armenian mother’s undeniable role in our reality.

At the end of the meeting Hermine Naghdalyan answered the attendees’ questions and listened to the problems concerning the women residing in the rural communities.
