Regulation of providing maternity benefit to unemployed mothers was approved

On December 24th during the regular session the Government approved the regulation of providing maternity benefits to unemployed mothers. Let’s recall that from January 1st of 2016, unemployed mothers will also receive maternity benefits.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan said that the rumours telling that benefits will be provided only from March of 2016, are not true. According to the Minister, in case of pregnancy and maternity leave, the beginning of a temporary unemployment is stated 210th day of pregnancy.

It should be mentioned that the Government estimates that about 30 thousand qwomen will benefit of the provided allowance for which the budget plans to spend 4 bilion AMD. Benefit will make 126 000 AMD lumpsum.
