17% of killings registered in the Republic are cases of domestic violence
Investigation Committee published a study on domestic violence.
The Investigative Committee held a meeting on December 7 on the investigation of criminal cases connected with the killings and willfully causing grave harm by the family members.
In accordance with the Committee’s 2016 work program on Criminal Investigation in charge of murder, intentional infliction of severe damage as well as cases of criminal cases handled by family members in 2015 were reviewed by the Committee. A similar study conducted in the Republic for the first time.
The findings were presented to the penitentiary deputy chairman, Doctor of Law Arthur Ghambarian.
The studies revealed that in 2015 registered 23 cases of murder and causing grievous bodily harm committed by a family member, of which 16 were killed, it accounts for 17 percent of total deaths.
