In Armenia almost a third of children are poor and have multiple overlapping vulnerability
On September 26th, the United Nations Children’s Fund and the National Statistical Service will present the results of the first analysis of vulnerability to multiple and overlapping. Analysis presentation will take place at the UN Office in Armenia (Yerevan, Petros Adamyan, 14, first floor) at 10: 00-11: 30.
The analysis is the first of its kind in the region. It reveals the complete picture of child poverty as a combination of monetary and non-monetary aspects of poverty. The study is based on UNICEF “Inochenti” Research Office (Florence, Italy) on innovative methodology and considering the vulnerability of the nine measures (nutrition, education and care in early childhood, education, leisure, social relationships, clothing, information, material / communal conditions , housing conditions), as well as three age groups: 0-5, 6-14, 15-17.
The results and analysis will be announced during the presentation. Will perform, UNICEF Representative in Armenia Ms.. Tanya Radochaye, NSS, Mr. President. Stepan Mnatsakanyan and “Inochenti” of social and economic policy expert Lucia Feronen.
National child poverty this can be used as a multi-dimensional assessment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) on children’s multidimensional poverty index, as defined for the purpose of SDG media 1.2.
