Armenia signs the Istanbul Convention
On 18 January, in Strasbourg, Mr Paruyr HOVHANNISYAN, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the Council of Europe, signed the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combatting Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention). Armenia becomes the 45th member state of the Council of Europe to sign the Istanbul Convention (CETS No. 210).
At this date, 28 States have ratified the Convention. The Group of experts on action against violence against women and domestic violence (GREVIO) has initiated the evaluation of its implementation.
