Inna and Narine Sargsyan – sisters who brought the taste and smell of Hadrut to Yerevan
The life of Inna Sargsyan from Hadrut was completely changed on September 27th due to the war unleashed by Azerbaijan. The family dinner last night was the last happy day for their big family.
“Entering Hadrut, one could see our shop first. We were the second-largest taxpayer after Cataro. We worked hard for 20 years and started a family business. In the early years, my sister and I supported my husband, doing everything ourselves, from cleaning to accounting. Years later, when we could already hire staff, I stayed home for a while. I was thinking of going back to school because I am a teacher of the Russian language and literature, but my husband advised me to do something that would give me more pleasure. I love cakes and I used to bake them often. At that time, my husband supported me, my sister, and gave us a piece of pastry in the store, ”says Mrs. Inna.
The sweet reputation of the sisters’ pastry quickly spread throughout Hadrut. Inna and Marine confess that they had more work in Hadru than today in Yerevan. Leaving Hadrut with her wounded brother on the 10th day of the war, Mrs. Inna took only the documents and the great German mixer – the student son’s gift was to his mother, who had brought it to Hadrut from Germany.
Hadrut’s Bakery has already gained regular customers in Yerevan during its 1.5 months of operation. The most popular pastry is baklava with the sisters’ famous honey. Mrs. Inna confesses that the secret of her baklava taste is pure honey. If honey is good, no other spices are needed!
Customers in Yerevan are not yet accustomed to Hadrut gata, which is softer and contains walnuts. The sisters, however, are sure. Soon this gata will become popular because every cake made with love is delicious.
