Thousands of citizens are turning to women MPs these days
In the conditions of the state of emergency spread in Armenia due to the spread of coronavirus, the “Bright Armenia” party has expressed readiness to provide free consultation to the citizens. Ani Samsonyan, a member of the faction of the same name, mentioned in her speech at the regular sitting of the National Assembly that hundreds of thousands of citizens had applied to the party.
“I emphasize that there are hundreds of thousands of citizens, especially former modest oppositionists, but now officials who think they can’t call us citizens,” said Samsonyan.
It should be noted that the “hundreds of thousands” of opposition parliamentarians mocked the statement of some current officials, questioning the veracity of their statements on receiving numerous applications.
One of those officials was the Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan, to whom another opposition woman MP, PAP member Nairia Zohrabyan responded. She wrote on his Facebook page:
“This is not a joke, Mr. Minister, this is another tragedy. In parallel with the sitting in the National Assembly, the Minister of Science, Education, Culture, Sports Arayik Harutyunyan made the following post on his Facebook page: “Hundreds, thousands, many citizens have applied to us on this issue. As soon as you ask to give at least three problems to deal with to understand where the problem is, the maximum data of one citizen is provided. And this is a regularity. Don’t do it”.
Now, Mr. Harutyunyan, every day, yes, a few hundred, I repeat, a few hundred citizens of the Republic of Armenia turn to me, and in many cases it is almost impossible to answer them all. And since I seem to have understood from your post that you are ready to listen to the problems of our compatriots and, as you have written, to deal with the problem, if you do not mind, I will give you 1% of the letters addressed to me. I will be grateful to you for addressing that one percent of the problems. And in order to be sure of the volume of letters per day, I will post only the messages I received from our citizens during the last 2-3 hours, of course covering their profiles. PS. Don’t do it, just don’t do it. ”
Naira Zohrabyan published photos, where it seems that many users have applied to her with various problems.
Returning to Ani Samsonyan’s speech, we should mention that, according to her, the citizens have asked them many questions, they have collected information that can be a guide for the government.
“The first problem is that we are surprised why so far there are no guide videos that will explain to people in understandable and simple language how to apply to the programs. In fact, they are written in a complex, intricate way, incomprehensible to people, and there are expressions in them that give rise to misinterpretations. Yes, people don’t know whether they are considered single mothers or not, they don’t know what the number of public services is, where they can get a certificate. There should be videos on all issues, “said Ani Samsonyan.
It should be noted here that “Bright Armenia” has prepared images that will help the citizens to check which social assistance program they correspond to. Ani Samsonyan posted pictures on her page.
According to the speaker, the next problem with the programs aimed at neutralizing the efforts with Coronavirus is the bad work of the system. The opposition lawmaker admits that many people are trying to enter the data system at the same time, but its bad work is causing them panic and stress.
“People can’t understand why can’t they use that program if they were fired on March 31th?” , she noted, proposing to revise the established standard and extend the term, as citizens may still be fired due to the state of emergency.
The deputy of the “Bright Armenia” faction also suggested expanding the circle of beneficiaries of the 8th event, including other spheres, the companies carrying out regular passenger transportation also had losses.
“If we told the restaurants to close the doors and not to work, then we told those carrying out passenger transportation to turn off the engines and not to work. And this is a consequence of the state of emergency. Or representatives of private educational institutions, such as private schools and kindergartens, have problems. These are preliminary observations, “the deputy said.
It should be reminded that the beneficiaries of the 8th program are the people who on March 13-30 were employees of the mentioned spheres or individual entrepreneurs.
– hotel and hotel services,
– public catering services,
– tourism services,
– hairdressing and beauty salon services,
– retail services (except for food and medicine sellers).
