77% of women want to work and 66% of men support them in it: report
International Labor Organization report released in March by the Gallup Institute shows that 77% of women prefer to have a paid job, while 66% of men support them in the process. And only 27% of women said that they want to stay home and be housewives.
“Towards a better future for women and work: Voices of women and men” report based on the results of a survey conducted in 142 countries around the world. almost 149 thousand people answer to experts’ questions. Report data show that women and men have similar views on many issues related to the work. Thus, only 29% of men want the women to stay at home, 28 percent would prefer that women in their family have paid jobs, while 38% would like to see women having the opportunity to combine work and home responsibilities. Women and men with higher level of education are increasingly of the opinion that a better solution when a woman manages both – works in paid work and takes care for family members. However, today the main problem for working women is considered opportunities of combining work and home responsibilities Overall, women who work full-time employer (more than 30 hours per week), often said that they would prefer to combine work and home obligations the best way.
