Women Leadership in the World for the Last 25 Years / Infographics
UN Women, under the motto of expanding women’s leadership, represents the global representation of women in decision-making within 25 years of the Beijing Action Plan. The topic is in line with the priorities of the 65th session of the Women’s Status Commission, which starts on March 15, and the “Generation of Equality” forum, which will be held in late March.
- In the governments of only 14 countries, women make up 50% of the cabinet.
- Since 1995, the number of women MPs in world parliaments has doubled to 25%.
The representation of women in the National Assembly of Armenia has increased from 6% to 22.7% since 1995, and this increase was ensured due to the quota stipulated in the Electoral Code, which in 2003-2018 increased from 5% to 25%.
- One in four managers in almost every field in the world is a woman.
- In the peace and security process from 1992 to 2018, only 3% of mediators, 4% of signatories and 13% of negotiators were women.
- 67% of climate change decision makers are men.
- 43% of women and 53% of men worldwide believe that men are better leaders than women, though that this stereotype is refuted by research on women’s leadership.
