Lusik Andreasyan: last witness of the Armenian Genocide in Lori region
106-year-old Lusik Andreasyan is the only one Genocide survivor of Lori region who can tell what those days was experienced as an eyewitness. Although in those days she was very small, she remembers what her parents told her.
Born in Kars province Lusik grandmother says that her family was living very well. Andreasyans were equipped with everything but running away they had nothing to do with their time.
- My father and my mother thought we would come back, and take the goods, so we left everything there, gold and other things and just ran away, – says Lusik grandmother.
Although due to the state of health in recent months she is lying in the bed almost all the time, memories of the massacre are still vivid.
During the deportations 5-year-old sister and some relatives Lusik grandmother died. Passing through many difficulties and hardships Andreasyans’ family arrived and settled in the village.
Moving from place to place, they settled permanently in Kirovakan. Andreasyans were allocated with land, where they built their small, modest house. There have been many difficulties, but she’s not complaining.
