Rethink-World-Hunger: new agenda / video
Recently released Millennium Development Goals report confirms that only two decades ago, nearly half of the developing world was living in conditions of extreme poverty. At present the number of people living in extreme poverty has fallen by more than half – from 1,9 billion in 1990 to 836 million in 2015.
Today 800 million people still live in extreme poverty and suffer from hunger. 20% of children in the poorest households are twice as susceptible to the danger of being stuned as the children from 20% wealthiest households and probability that they will not be involved in school is four times more. Every day 16 000 children under the age of 5 die for reasons that could have been prevented.
