What does an Armenian family expect from the State?

“When you cannot bring up children, just give birth to them and we will up bring”.

Mardig and Angela Melkonyans who have 14 children live in Aygavan village of Ararat region. The father says that when he was 11, he was adopted. When he was a child, the adoptive father died in an accident, and another one – in the Karabakh war, his father. Two single mothers, overcoming great difficulties, up brought him. After they married, together with his wife decided to have as many children as God wants, despite the cold and dark years, and their dire social consequences.

All letters sent state authorities with requests of flat extensions were left unanswered. “Fuller Center” provides money for the family for 20 years without interest rate of 3 million 100 thousand AMD. This can help to extend the house.

“There was no government support. Thanks to God and also good people that were on our side and benefactors from Armenia and the Diaspora. They have always supported us”, – the father says.
