Elinar Vardanyan: “I suggest that the proportion of 30/70 is implemented immediately – in 2017”

Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Elinar Vardanyan is one of those deputies, who were surprised why the government, while fixing the Electoral Code, gender representation 30/70 ratio in the parties’ lists, however, delays the implementation of that provision until the year 2022. In an interview with WomenNet- MP said that she was initially a supporter of the Electoral Code of 30/70 gender balance ti be  fixed and enter into force immediately, in the parliamentary elections of 2017.

“At the present time I have been submitted another form of legislative change, because the code is adopted in the third reading by the National Assembly as a whole, and the amendments should be in a separate project”, –  she said.
