“The laureates received the prizes for “International Award for Young women’s peace and human rights”

“Democracy Today” NGO was for sixth time awarded the “International Award for Young Women’s Peace and Human Rights” on June 7th  reported.

 

This year the representatives of Colombia and Iraq won the Peace Prize. “Baghdad Women’s Association” member Barva Mohammed Ami was awarded for increasing women’s role in the peace and reconciliation processes  in Iraq. Katherine Ronderos representing Colombia, was awarded ” International Award for Young Women’s Peace and Human Rights” for increasing women’s role in in peace-building process.

 

Prizes were distributed to to the winners of “International Award for Young Women’s Peace and Human Rights” by the last year’s winners –  Qaeda Odate from  “Syrian Women Association” (Syria) and Eliko Bendeliani from Georgia.
