From 2015 maternity benefits will be provided to unemployed mothers too. The projected number of beneficiaries is 30 000, the budgetary costs – around 3,0 billion AMD. “In fact, we are giving solution to a problem which has been discussed for a long time. So far we have had prenatal maternity leave for working mothers and within its framework pregnancy and childbirth allowance is paid. Introducing allowance for unemployed mothers, we plan, that for the same period, unemployed mothers with birth certificate, will also have the right to receive certain amount, which will be about 126,600 AMD from January of 2016”, – said Artem Asatryan noting that thus they fully regulate the issue of future mothers, so that they have support by the state.
Let’s note that at present there are three types of benefits:
The first one is maternity benefit which will be provided to working mothers by 31st of December and to unemployed mothers beginning from January of 2016.
The second is a lump-sum allowance which is given to all families, regardless of the fact whether mother works or not.
