About a quarter of the world’s children live in countries affected by conflict or disaster
According to UNICEF estimates, about 535 million children worldwide, approximately one of every four, lives in conflict or disaster affected countries often being deprived of medical care, quality education, proper nutrition and access protection.
In Sub-Saharan Africa hosts about three-quarters of the global number of children living in states of emergency after impact, 393 million children.
These new data were published on the eve of the December 11, 2016, when UNICEF celebrates the 70th anniversary of its incessant and persistent work the world’s most difficult sections to bring life-saving aid and long-term support and hope to children whose lives and future are at stake conflicts, crises, poverty, inequality and discrimination.
“UNICEF is founded on to help and bring hope to children whose lives and future are at stake as a result of conflict and deprivation.
