Parliamentary elections: How many votes female candidates secured
Parliamentary elections are already behind. Winner are known, for losers reasons still to be studied. Only one political party – the ARF – made honest objection to its refusal to participate in the upcoming municipal elections: “Analyzing the National Assembly elections in Yerevan unexpectedly low results obtained by ARF…the municipal committee does not find it appropriate to participate in municipal elections in the capital”. Other parties which made decision not to participate in the elections did not provide any detail about the real reasons and only issued statements about their decision.
However, until it will officially be known the names of the candidates participating in the municipal elections, WomenNet.am analyzed what the results showed political forces at four constituencies covering Yerevan and how many votes the women included in the lists ensured for the forces.
At 4 districts including Yerevan 9 in regional lists of political parties were 133 women candidates. Most women are included in the Republican Party, the Communist Party, the Congress and the People’s Alliance regional lists.
