“Make a Step” to support abused women and their children
On May 25 Women against Violence Europe starts Step up Campaign, which aims to support abused women and their children and ensure protection of the rights. This was reported by the NGO “Women’s Rights Center”, which calls to join the campaign noting that violence against women is a universal problem.
The release of Women against Violence Europe Network and the Center for Women’s Rights, reads as follows:
Over the next two years members of the Women’s Network will promote support to the victims of violence in Europe and their children and protection of their rights to receive support. Human rights are most violated in case of women and girls, which can be fatal, for example, in 2012 47% of murders of women in Europe was carried out by a partner or family member.
“In many European countries there is a considerable lack of investment in the field of specialist support services, which results in women fail to seek appropriate help. We stands upon the EU authorities, national governments and other interested parties to make public action steps to stop violence against women”, – said Women Against Violence Europe network President Roza Logare.
