Men start the war and women bear its consequences for many years

President of “Sukhumi” cultural and Humanitarian Foundation Alla Gamakharia came to such a conclusion. Alla, being Russian by nationality, became a refugee 20 years ago, she has passed through many difficulties and now tries to help war-displaced people. We became acquainted with Alla during a regional conference “Women’s role in conflict prevention, peace and security” which was recently held in Yerevan by “Democracy today” NGO. In her conversation with “Womennet.am” Alla told about the problems of displaced people after the war in Georgia.

“Men are harmed after the war, then they cannot find their place in civilian life and cannot find suitable employment, but women feel that they need to feed their children, there is no high or law salary for women, they do any job”, – says Alla Gamakharia.
