“Take a risk, do not be afraid, try to implement the ideas.” Ani Musheghyan

The series of illustrations “Painters of Artsakh” on the covers, recently created by artist-stylist Ani Musheghyan, has been received with excitement and warmth in Armenia and abroad. The creator who lost the desire and motivation to create during the 44-day Artsakh war says:

– It is difficult to think of anything when your country and the 18-year-old boys of your country are in danger. This situation simply did not allow me to concentrate and try to create. For months, during the war and post-war days, we were all only interested in news about the front lines and the boys.

An idea of creating and constantly presenting our Armenian made Ani rediscover herself and start working.

– Throughout my creative activity, my main goal has been to spread and popularize the Armenian. Until now, I used to depict the churches and sanctuaries of Western Armenia on my shirts, now I have started the series of churches in Artsakh. And most of them are not ours, it is the same, we will continue to consider them ours and spread them as Armenian, – says Ani.

The series “Artsakh Sanctuaries” started with illustrations of Dadivank, Gandzasar, Ghazanchetsots, Green Hour Church, which the author combined with the ornaments of old Armenian carpet weaving. Ani intends to give breath and spirit to all the churches of Artsakh, bringing them to all corners of the world in the form of T-shirts.

T-shirts with Artsakh motifs are especially in demand among Diaspora Armenians, who, as Ani says, “are constantly looking for and trying to find items with illustrations depicting a part of the homeland, reminiscent of the homeland and the land.”

Ani has been painting since 2015. She later started painting on canvases when she received offers of cooperation from local stylists. Now, continuing to collaborate with various organizations and individuals in the field, she tries to combine painting and illustrations on T-shirts, especially since in both cases the basis and the message lead to Armenian roots.

The promotion of the MusheghyAni brand is gaining momentum. There are many reasons that hinder faster development and awareness. The most important of them is conditioned by the state of the country.

Ani is also interested in the ornaments of Armenian architecture. She even started a series of paintings, which, however, are still unfinished.

The creator, guided by the desire to present the national, the Armenian, the traditional with an innovative approach, is convinced that one should always take risks, not be afraid, and try to implement the ideas by all means.
