At the moment there are only 18 women mayors
Currently only 18 of the 866 rural communities are headed by women, there are no women among the 49 municipal mayors. This number has not been changed after 7 elections held in 2016 although the resulting two female mayors elected.
Before the next local elections, scheduled for September 18 in the regular and special elections were held in several communities.
Summing up the results of the local elections in 2016 state that this year the mayor elections were held in 43 communities. Of these, only two are women succeed, Mghart and Dashtadem.
The town is not led by any woman, only women are in positions of leadership in rural communities.
